How to stay positive?

I’ve been out of work since June 2017. This is the longest and only time in my life I have been without regular employment. I’m getting very discouraged. My finances are depleted, unemployment is tapped out, bills racking up... I’m at a loss.

Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I am So sorry for the way you were treated! It takes A lot of nerve to apply for a job! No matter ones experience or qualifications! To then be told that the job is yours, I would imagine you immediately began sharing your great news with family and friends! For this company to send you on your greatest high, bring you into daze and confusion, and finally break your heart by simply dismissing you,...It IS SHAMEFUL!!! TOO MANY COMPANIES TREAT APPLICANTS AS IF THEY WERE STRANGERS BUMMING MONEY RATHER THAN A PROUD HUMAN BEING WANTING TO REPRESENT THEIR BUSINESS !!! I am going thru something similar, except I had been employed by my company for two years. A year and half ago, I was injured at work. Because I have a ONE income home...me, myself, and I, ....I suffered with the pain for three months . My General Manager insisted that I leave and go to the hospital! By this time, the cuts on my legs had become terribly infected. When I informed my GM, he told me that My Job would be there when I was able to come back. Workman's Comp took care of all of my medicals for about Four months, until they decided that, although I was cut at work, it was my fault that they became infected. The last year has been a challenge!!!!! The second week of last December, I phoned work and told them my legs were healed and I could finally return. Since then, I have filled out three applications, taken another Assessment Test and went thru another interview. They told me that I had to do all of this because I was out for more than six months. Also that I was not special and would be treated as Any Stranger applying for the first time. Talking about check your ego at the door!? Since the interview, Nothing!!! So I called them...Nine times. Seven of which, I was asked for my pH.number. Still no reply. Two days ago, again I called them. This time I was told they really didn't need anyone at this time. I told them that was not true because they have posted nine times in the last month for needing help! I was put on hold for ten minutes, and then told someone will call me Monday. It's upsetting, embarrassing, and demeaning!! I had to leave for medical reasons, I had a great record and Never saw this coming.. So please believe me when I say I feel really bad for you.

Feeling discouraged...

Hi, I am a 34 year old mother of 2 children. I am currently looking for a job preferably in customer service. I have been sending my resume to any job that looks as though I can do. Mostly on Indeed.com. I even fill out applications for servers at restaraunts. I've been to numerous interviews. I've graduated from 2 different Job Readiness programs in the last year and a half to brush up on interviewing skills. One was at Job 1 of New Orleans and the other was with Strive NOLA. And yet I still haven't landed that job. I am desperate for a change and I know I'm a hard worker. I just don't know what to do next...

The Hardest Part Of Job Searching

I did not expect the economy to be so poor in Florida still. I don't care what the mayor says about job growth and "unqualified people" not getting hired. I am over qualified in my area, there are no jobs because companies are not seeing revenue due to low inflation. Dont get me wrong, billions of dollars are being spent on more high rise apartments and College expansions. Where are the kids going to work? New Tampa Bay Bucs Stadium?

My Story

My Story, spent 35 years working in retail started out as a after school job that tuned into a real job. it was a good job but never thought it as a carrer, haha any way i retired this past August at the age 51 with plans of working for my son in law. Well things havent worked out as i had planed, no real surprize there. So now i find myself with no job no insurance. i have had a temp job with costco for the holidays that i was hoping would turn into job offer with a great companey, ut again it was a no go. So what to do now, i have sent out appications but not really having any luck. Im thinking it has to do with my age, i have run and managed full buildies with 90 plus employees, physically fit i dont look old, .... im at a loss as what to do now

Depressed

I'm an 18 yr old girl with an apartment of my own with help of my mother, a boyfriend with no ID, no job, and no car. I have applied in so many places and called each one they were too lazy to even look at the application. I have ADHD so I can't drive. People say getting a job is either easy or hard. For me it has been bad.

Disabled and Stressed

As of two years ago i became unemployed. Ive been working odd jobs to find one i could actually keep. However my medical condition has weakened my performance, The cause of my unemployment to begin with. This leads me to want a Remote job. Or at least a sit down computer job that can give relocation assistance. I want to rebuild confidence in holding a job, however my personal lifestyle and Medical issues are leading me to believe all hope is lost. I have but a month to get some sort of job that can accomodate me and understands my goals. Discrimination has been noted when i have applied for various jobs, It is hard to get Networking nowadays. I need help, and i dont know where to start.
