Sad and Discourage

I have been looking for a permanent job since my last job merged with another company and laid everyone off. I have a fantastic resume, I also have an MBA and BA in Accounting. With my education and experience, I am either over qualified for a staff positions, or under qualified for a management position. At any rate, I always make it to the final cut, but I am never picked. I was a finalist 4 times this month. Please do not tell me I should be proud to be picked 2 out of 500 to 1000 people. If you are not first ,you are last when it comes to jobs. I did a background check on myself, and it comes back clean and fantastic; I have great references and recommendation letters. I also dress professional.I ware quality tailor fitted suits to the interviews. I have even did a Temp assignment to prove my worth. At Diamond Resort, they loved my work, and I made a 2 week project turn into a 3 month assignment. However, when I applied to open positions, they do not pick up. The only think I can think is the problem is I am little over-weight, and it is a lookism issue. I am happy with how I look, However, I went on a on a diet anyways for health reasons. Just maybe, it will improve my looks. I do not know what to do? I feel defeated and depressed and close to being broke.

Came close, but didn't get the position

Was actually hoping this was the one, but in all honesty only one person can get selected for the position, and this time it was not me. So I will just keep on trying. Difficult (as I see many of you express on here) at 59. But the right job will come along, and I will just keep praying to God that he directs me to that employer that will hire me.

private club and your not in it

I've been applying to jobs for past 7 years, originally thought "oh I'm just a recent college grad, I must not have enough experience even though I have two college degrees, no big deal" Now I have 7 years experience working in retail management and marketing/merchandising and hundreds of job applications later not even a email back on any of these jobs, all they do is steal my information then call my phone trying to scam me into buying some product or service. Do you have to know someone in order to get a job? I have two business degrees (associates, bachelors) over 7 years experience and now I feel like these companies can make up an excuse not to hire you no matter what age/level of experience/degrees you have. Am I secretly blacklisted and was never informed?what was the point of going to college? One would think with my degrees and experience companies would be fighting over my application but I do live in Buffalo, NY that could be the problem, maybe there just aren't any real jobs out here?

I don’t know what to do...

I’m 22, and I quit so many jobs that I disliked, but the jobs that I want and apply for turn me down down because I have no experience. How do I get a job that I need experience in without having experience? Helpppp!

It's ruff out here

I've been trying to get back into DSP work but every house I applied to says I'm over qualified because I worked at a level 4 forensics home which means I dealt with violent adults I have been contacting all the great job leads everyone has been sending me but I get shut down before I can even get an interview . And when I applied for developmental centers they are not accepting new employee's because of the cut backs from the state

I'M DONE

I just can't take it anymore. I just had my 3rd job offer pulled due to credit. I have interviewed many times and every time I beat the odds and start the background process the job falls through every time. I've had it. I'm done.
