What you might know. What you might not know. And what you Should know.

Employees and employers are two different people in the work force. You may notice that employers don't eat, congragate, relax, or spend any time where employees may be. This is most companies, I'm sure there are those select few that are contrary. There are reasons for this. Employers talk about things that, in many cases, are directly about employees. They also discuss things that may change employees lives. Now, this may be exactly their plans, it may not be. But, at the whim of an employee hearing anything that relates to them, collegues, and/ friends this information may be misconstrued. For instance, Mary over hears the boss talking about Sam. Saying something like, "Sam seems a little down, maybe we should give him time." Mary could take this information as Sam will be fired soon, or demoted, or moved and so on... This happens all the time when it comes to information just like that. Reasons employees and employers are in different places. Now, I am sure there are a hundred more stories quite similar, or even more outlandish than this. But, for now this will do.

That covers about what you might know. How about what you might not know? Employers are in charge of what is known as, "budget." Their whole worlds, in many cases, revolve around how much is being spent versus how much is being made. Today an employer wants to save as much profit as possible and provide the highest output in product. This is a balancing act. And one that can be very hard to do. Hence, why they are Employers! Consider their job once. Imagine you are the boss of xyz and you are told by your employer, (yes they have employers too) "we need to increase production and decrease spending." How would you do it. As an employer, they all know that most of their budget is spent in Employment and they usually know exactly what it means, lay-off. This will put anyone in a predicement. Who do you lay-off and why? The job of a boss is stressful and in all reality he is just another clog in the wheel. He's going to cut everywhere he possibly can without lossing exactly what he needs to perform the job. Over time the employer will come back and do it again, and so forth.

This covers what you might not know. Now, what you should know. Employers, as stated above, have employers. They are the owners, CEOs, investors, and even the clients themselves. In the end, just like you, they want to make money. They see the dollar signs. They also see the budget and greed, want, need, or desire strikes. They see all that profit going to employees who come in late, leave early, call-off, over emotional, stay in the bathroom, request early vacation, do short bursts of work, talk on time I mean honestly this list goes on and on... and they feel somehow ripped off. And put yourself in their shoes, here you are paying their rent, bills, car, gas, food, clothing, college, health care, dental, vision, vacation and so on... and not only do they play games on the clock, but feel you owe it somehow to them and wants a raise!

Now, they see other countries out there not having to pay anywhere near what we are paid. Their profits won't change. Why stay here. Heck, they can even knock a dollar or two off the price and still cut higher profit then they ever did hear. And why? Because we let them...

We buy what they sell it didn't matter if the package said China, Taiwan, Mexico, Istanbul as long as you could pay for it at a profitable, lessor amount saving you a dollar or two. We want the president or anyone for that matter to fix this but in the end everytime we purchase a product that wasn't made here we are selling out own job futures. And if you think their going to stop consider, if your still making that dollar save would you spend a dollar more?

Cold hard facts of why we're where we are.

There is NOT equal opportunity

Don’t be fooled into thinking that there is equal opportunity for every job, in every state. Every state is different, and a job that is super common in one place might not even exist in another. You have to plan your career accordingly! http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/generalmoney/the-largest-industry-in-every-state/ss-AAeKgb6?fullscreen=true#image=1

This sucks!

They say the unemployment number is 5% but that’s a lie. If you count people who stop looking for jobs because it’s so damn hard AND people stuck in crappy part-time work when they want a full-time job it’s way, way higher. That’s why none of us can find a freaking job! I just wish they would tell the truth about it.

Less Jobs in America

I went to Panera yesterday to meet a friend and there was only one cashier. Instead they had all these touch panels where you could order yourself. Guess I shouldn't look for a job as a cashier at Panera. This country needs more jobs. More and more are disappearing all the time.

Healthcare

Hello all and I'm back. Thanks again for the praises and votes. Yes, it's getting tough in the job market today. Trying to maintain for yourself and or family is not easy also. There are job apps for employment. Friends and family to talk to help get you thru the day. Yes, it's not easy out there anymore but just try and do your best. I'm not a social media type of person because jobs don't want to see you or hear about your information. Living life is one thing and with all the extra is another. This generation has turned into a world of computers robots, social media and unemployed people that try to take care of family or themselves. Well I guess you can believe in our Savoiur let him show you the way, love yourself, family, friends and what you try to do and be thankful to wake up to another great morning. I'll try again to be here to help out if I can but I myself is looking to maintain what I have too. So if you don't see me on here as much is because living to help and trying to do my best like you too. Thank you again to you all from the heart.

What the hell's happening with retail?

I feel like I have whiplash. Macy's is closing hundreds of stores, but Amazon's hiring 100,000 people for their new retail stores? I'm a retail cashier, and all this is making me super nervous. Anyone else wondering what's going on out there? Is retail not a stable industry to work in anymore?

Free College In NY!

I don’t live in NY but I Hope this FREE tuition plan gets passed and spreads like wildfire throughout the US. The cost of a college education has been spiraling out of control for years. I originally wanted to go to a 4 year college after high school but couldn't afford it so I went to truck driving school and got a cdl license instead. Households earning less than $125K per year are eligible to attend a city or state university for free. That income level is going to allow millions of mid to low income NYC families the opportunity to have a realistic higher education option for their children. What’s wrong with having a highly educated society anyway? Tax dollars well spent in my opinion. What do you think? http://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/03/nyregion/free-tuition-new-york-colleges-plan.html?_r=0"

Are Millennials just whiny?

I have a coworker who is 25. I feel like she is always going on about wanting to make a difference and how this economy has just screwed everything up. I think she is bitter because she has a Master’s degree but is in a low-paying job like the rest of us. I keep telling her that things aren't instant and that it takes TIME to get where you want to go in life. She HAS a job so I don’t see what the problem is.

What do you think? Is she just being whiny?

Don’t Drink the Water! Opt Out for the Kool-Aid Instead

Is this another fake news scam to get more people to jump on the President elect bandwagon or did Trump really influence Ford Motor Company's decision to opt out of Mexico and turn to Michigan instead? When can we expect these new jobs in Michigan? http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/03/ford-canceling-plans-for-16-billion-plant-in-mexico-investing-700-million-in-michigan-expansion-instead.html
