I applied job at nyc astoria cvs for cashier, shift supervisor trainee. I didn't get any call. should i need to call them?

I filled out and application for walgreens i actually knew the hiring manger but he decided to hire his wife niece even though he knew she wasnt qualified or dependable. Long story short cvs hired me and i love it he ended up firing his niece now he is asking that i join his team ... No way. I wasnt expected to be hire because i knew him only because i was way more qualified. His loss.

I'm a little concern because I put my application in about almost a week ago and I haven't got a email or phone call ?

What can I do to get my application considered seriously? I live close by, am dependable,friendly, resourceful, hard working with a variety of experience that would lend itself to filling the position positively.
