Unfit for Job?
I have been working at this company for nearly two years as a contractor in the Logistics department. I waited a bit before I applied for temp or permanent positions until I understood the company a little more and how things are run on the inside. At the time I felt I was ready for the next step, I was running 4 states worth of individual markets (totaling 33 individual wholesalers), training other people on how to properly use the systems that we had, understood a very miniscule portion of the market (low alcohol for UT), was running a metric everyday to determine how well our department did throughout the day in fill efficiency, and was running a distribution center out of Colorado. I thought I had a great shot at getting this job. Unfortunately, I did not get the job. There were 20 available positions (10 full, 10 temp), so I thought I had a really good shot at getting the Full time, and felt pretty confident that I would get temp as a fall back. The whole process felt botched from my side. I applied and did an business environment test (kind of like a personality test). 2 minutes after submitting it, it told me that they were looking at other candidates. Talked to my managers about this, and they were not sure exactly what happened. Next time I applied, it went through. I was the last interview for those positions, and I felt it went well. I bugged my manager for a few weeks (after not hearing anything for about 3 weeks). When he finally pulled me aside with the results, he told me that I did not get any job. Admitably, I was upset, especially after hearing that 3 people I trained personally got these jobs before I did (and they were shocked I did not get it as well). At the same time, my manager informed me that I was losing all of my markets, my distribution center, and they were thinking about getting rid of me running this metric as I was being transitioned to a different job environment, but it was not a promotion or advancement. He tried to explain to me that it would help make me more marketable and more knowledgeable about the industry, as the only thing that I was getting from the interviewers was that they were shocked at my lack of insight based on my time with the company. When asked what they meant by that, I got no response, and still have not. I know this is more of a rant right now, but has anyone gone through this and stayed with the company? I feel like they do not want me there anymore.

Rant
Got a job offer working as a support engineer, the contracting agency I'm working with is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.
The MOST convoluted, crazy, non-existent process of on-boarding I've ever experienced in my entire career, and believe me I've worked for some real horror shows.
Did the first interview, it went great. Did the second interview, it went great. Did all the paperwork, crossed all the t's, dotted all the i's, but because of sheer incompetence and lack of communication, I still don't have the job after almost a month now.
Here's the real kick in the !@#$: I was told that I start MONDAY 4/10 - I show up at the facility, no one knows who I am, where my "paperwork" is, I'm not on the books, no record of me, NOTHING. I literally sat in the front lobby for over an hour, at the place I'm supposed to be working. Frustrated and confused, I call my agency, THEY TELL ME TO GO HOME. REALLY?
I've got over 20 years under my belt as an engineer/tech, I've never experienced anything like this before. I'm so angry and frustrated, words cannot describe.
Has this happened to any of you? I hope you all are doing a lot better than I am, because for me this is an absolute nightmare and it seems like tech is just bottoms up with nowhere to go.
End of rant.

Employment Contract
I was hired by an attorney in NC and was required to sign an employment contract which states that if I leave during the first 3 months I must pay her $2500 in damages; if I leave during the second 3 months it is $1500 and if I leave during the remaining six months of the year the fee is $1200! I have been there 2 months and already know this is not a good fit. The pay is extremely low for someone with over 20 years of experience and there are no benefits! She will not give me a copy of the contract nor was I advised to have the contract reviewed before signing!!!! I have an opportunity for a better job with benefits but I do not want to pay these obscene fees!!!!! Is this legal??

HELP!!!!!!!!
I lost my job in the oil industry back in 2015. I went almost a year before I landed an opportunity to help out a company by coming to work for them while I am able to find a job. I fell in love with my job but they don’t want to budge with the salary, which is awful by the way, nor provide me with benefits. Keep in mind, I am a single mother with 2 kids who borrows money for rent every month. I have been looking like crazy, online, networking and working with recruiters. Why does it seem so hard to get a job these days? I feel like I am doing everything I should be doing. I have talked to several people regarding my resume which they say is great! I am not scared to talk to people. Is there any advice you can give that may help improve my efforts?

Got release
So I got a mail extractor contracting job it started Jan. 6 and yesterday when I went to put in my hours... I was told by the people (Randstad) that hired me for this company that they didn't think I was a good fit since I seem like I was comprehending anything or something like, but I can go back to the randstad website and I apply for something else. So this really dishearting do I see if I can apply for a different job with them or just start job hunting again? What do I put on my application? I know I don't have must experience and whatnot so I know I am at a disadvantage and all.

How do I get noticed
It might be just the time of the year, but I was working as a contractor last year and the contract came to an end towards the end of the year. I've probably sent out 200+ resumes since then and only had a few face-to-face interviews. I'm not getting the response I want and have a great resume with tons of web development experience and up to date skills. It shouldn't be like this. Things are picking up but still not hearing back for jobs that I should be hearing from.
