Late Pay Penalties
I am not sure how the penalties work with temp agencies. My contract ended on the 31st of. January. I was not paid for the last 8 hours. My rep finally got back to me today saying I wasn't paid and should be paid by Friday. Also my sick time that I requested for was not processed because there was a "backlog" and should come to me the following Friday. Is ANY OF THIS LEGAL?

Is this right??
As some of you already know New York had an increase in minimum wage to $11 an hour. Im an assistant manager and i make $12 . I didn't get an increase. My cashiers make $11 is that right? I should just quit and get rehired as a cashier.

How much does this pay.
It is colse to home.

When starting a new job and have to go through training, do you get paid for training hours?
Hi everybody!
I start my new job tomorrow (yay!!!) and my manager informed me that this will be my training week. I'm originally supposed to work 7-3 Monday through Friday, however, she is having me work 10-4/5 Monday through Friday this week.
First of all, is this normal? And secondly, will I get paid for my training hours? Is there an appropriate way to ask if I'll get paid for training?
Thank ya'll so much for all of your help!

Been working with a company for a month now and have yet to get paid!
I was brought on with this company at the beginning of the year. Since that time I have completed all of the schooling and testing they required. Officially I have been in the office working for the last two weeks even though my hire on date was the middle of January. Per their own contract I was so get reimbursed the money for my schooling and testing. Also was to receive a petty cash fund to cover business cards and gas. As of yet I have been paid NOTHING and been denied access to the petty cash to get my cards. I looked into where my money is and found that all the work I have done so far someone else took credit and was paid. The office refuses to correct the issue saying it is up to the person that got paid to fix it!
I am now down to my emergency cash put in my savings account that was meant for unexpected problems.
I have my licence to sell life/health insurance and annuities and feel like I have been had.

When being trained for a new job, do you get paid for training hours?
Hi everybody!
So I finally got my offer letter, and I'm supposed to start on Monday! However, my manager wants to use this first week as a training week.
I originally work 7 to 3, but she wants me to come from 10-4/5 to train. Will I get paid for training? Is there an appropriate way to ask?

When in training for a new job, are you paid for training?
Hi everybody!
I finally received my offer letter! I am supposed to start tomorrow morning!
However, my first week is going to be my training week, and it's not my original hours. My original hours are 7-3, but my training hours are from 10-4/5.
Will I get paid for my training hours, and is there an appropriate way to ask?
Also, is if normal for training hours to be different than normal scheduled hours?
Thank y'all for all your help!!

am I wrong
ok so I started a fee for service job meaning I am NOT salaried I do NOT get paid if a patient does NOT show up I have patients scheduled from 11am -7pm There was a blizzard my 1st day in NYC 3/9/17 I made it in at 10:50 I had the supervisor show me the systems the documentation, all on time that I am NOT paid for, BUT this I knew and I agreed to Due to the weather EVERY single patient had canceled but I decided I would be diligent and read their charts I went to buy contact lens drops, did not realize I had grabbed my ear drops by mistake I was informed that I was not allowed a break that I was on their time, as the I was stealing time, I was told I was expected to worked straight through through est my desk 11-7, now I did not $1 that day so how was it the agency's time? is there something I missing? it was 3pm I decided to go home, as it cost me $40 to work to make $0

Can't live on minimum wage
I retired from the University of Michigan after 25 years experience. Hospitals will not consider me because I am not certified ASCP. I feel the experience of working in a lab. The only job I can find is a job that pays 8.90/hr. I simply can't survive on this. My last check was for $111 for the week. How do I live on this and pay any bills. What am I supposed to do to live the so called American Dream
