Hire Is A Sales Process
I'll offer a new topic posting in the hopes of clarifying for you that job hire is a sales process. By-pass H.R. but head to hiring managers (which you can Google online or identify through Linked-In). Then, list all of the reasons that you've heard which rule you out of hire. Next to this first column, make a second column which lists all of the reasons why you should be hired, but quantify these reasons. Then, practice a mock interview with a friend. See if you can overcome through #'s, %'s, and $$'s generated during a 1-yr period of time your contributions because everyone is valuable. Everyone is capable of generating income. See if you can spot your "Um's or Not-Sure's". Your resume must communicate value in the form of these hiring specifics because hiring managers are the ones who hire and fire, whereas H.R. is only empowered to say "no"..., which explains why you're seeing "no". Then, overhaul your resume and ask a pro to review it. Then, write a compelling cover letter which explains why the company should see you. You may also have to approach a recruiter to assist you with this process. Then, write a 30-60-90 day action plan which tells employers what you'll do and why, as determined by #'s, $$'s, %'s, and accounts added. If you're not sure how to do this, what I see is that most people aren't hired because they aren't seeing how effective job search/hire/and negotiations work. Simply put, it's not that you're not hireable. You just possess a few gaps in job search (sales) process and know-how because you're the solution that companies need. They just don't know it. How you proceed and what you ultimately believe makes a world of difference. Then, your two columns willl reflect a rebuttal process you construct..., whereby you positively overcome all hiring biases (or human concerns). When you present an action plan, you're instilling in the hiring manager positive bias.

One thing I learned from my interview was...
be ready to prove yourself. because they put you in a piece of equipment to see how much you know.
