now it depends, if you are talking about working in the home for someone or a hotel / motel.. for a hotel just apply at the hotels that are hiring and they will train you on how they want you to clean the rooms.. if its in someones home, most people want someone with some kind of cleaning experience, be discreet, hidden out of the way, you are there cleaning but they dont want to see you and dont want their guests seeing you either, you are there to clean quickly, correctly, quietly, lil interaction as possible.. there is a difference between an in home housekeeper and an in home maid.. the house keeper may only be there at the home 1 - 2 times a week and maybe 1 extra day if they throw a party and need the extra help, and a maid is there daily 8 - 12 hrs or longer or can be a live in maid. housekeeper can make in 1 - 2 days what takes a maid all week to make, it just depends on how good and quick you are with what they want you to do in the given time they set...

well i own my cleaning business and i pay my girls or guys very well depending on there performance i have some that just want a check and other that care if you care about ur work and take pride in what you do no matter what kind of job it iis you will always get compensated well cause it always goes unnoticed people and companys love employees that take pride in there work

Well, if you find a store that will actually train you instead of throw you on the floor and expect you to know it then you'll definitely grow within the company. They have high turn over rates because nobody is properly trained.
