Sometimes we just need to go outside the usual comfort zone.

I have cooked for most of my professional career. Now I want something different.

Employment cloud over my head

I have been actively seeking employment in the Human Resources field since obtaining my Master's Degree in December of 2017. I have applied for over 100 positions( no exaggeration) and I haven't had any luck. I've went on about six interviews. I was either offered a lesser pay than what I am making currently or an denial email. I suddenly become depressed when individuals with less experience or education are promoted to positions that are paying substantially more than I am. I feel like I'm not given the opportunity to prove my talents or the contributions that I can add to enhance any company's strategic goals. I do not know what to do and I feel myself becoming worried more as I hear others success stories or when I receive those denial letters.

Finding employers who WILL HIRE

The main thing that’s upsetting me is the fact that I’ve been trying to find a job, I’ve went to interviews and filled out applications for just about everything you can think of. And most of these jobs in the description are saying they’d like someone with experience. But they’ll take and train someone without experience. My biggest question to employers is, “how do you begin to gain experience in construction, welding, fencing, sales representative, executive directors, etc., if you don’t even give people a change to do great things and try things out?”

Soso interview. Wrong job

All three interviews (yes 3) were self employed ventures. Nothing wrong with that but one need a starting capital of which I don't have. So I still need a wage paying position that withholds my taxes and enriches and edifys my life while increasing my skills. Now I'm getting down, upset stomach, somnia, and teary eyed. But, still got praise on my tongue for GOD and moving forward. Hope I didn't make a mistake in those entrepreneur ventures.

Out-of-State Job Hunt...

Hi-- I am applying for jobs in another state and I was wondering if anyone has any advice as to what I could do to maximize my chances of being considered for a position (or any advice in general as to looking for a job in another state)?

Thank you! :)

Got 2 jobs

So every one knows that I did all my stuff for scanning of the VAs medical records. Had no idea when I would hear or have a start date. So I put in an application at Randstad for a scanner and prep and went in to sign paper work today and waiting for back ground check up. So now I have to jobs to decide on which one to take. One pays for my insurance and pays 2.00 more and for 3 years and the other is a temp job that I pay for my insurance.

So I am just weighting my 2 jobs which would be the best for me. Still no start date on either of them. So it's still a wait and see game . Hoping this is the last week that I will be off work.

Taking a chance in non profit, worth it?

So I’ve been working at my corporate job for roughly 2 years, and I hate it. I dread going to work, it is not in the field of what I studied, and my boss is a misogynist condescending you know what. (He’s also currently under investigation by the company because so many clients and employees have reported him) after applying to countless job over the last 4-5 months I received a call back from a non-profit organization. The job is right up my alley, and something I feel would fulfill me at the end of the day- the pay is even 20,000 more a year than what I’m making now! The only problem is the organization is fairly new, the turn over seems high, and although the interviewer was extremely pleasant - the work environment was very “meh” do I take the risk in hopes of a more fulfilling job? Or do I stay where I’m comfortable able and hope for the best? Any advice?!

Advise Please

I am a Certified Carpenter and I also have my OSHA certificate. I have been doing my own landscaping for 5 years and still going. I have had jobs where I have to cook and wash dishes so I’m pretty much like a all around worker. But even though I have these Certifications and and a lot of work experience I have been having difficult times trying to find a job. I know my certificates can benefit me through construction type of business’s but I have yet to find a job in either the food or construction industry I am only 20 years old and I am very ambitious. I pray everybody gets the jobs they want and I pray I can atleast get a job. I was just looking for recommendations on what some of you guys would do if you was in my shoes or just some advise to help me get closer to what I want. Thank you
