Bin a while since I lost sed something
I’m back to update every one on my stuff. After toys r us shut down the job hunt was hard but I got a job at newks and got fired in a week because of bad tarrable training and the unprefestional work place. Thin shortly after I got a job with my mom working at family service agancy taking in donations and I turned 18. school started back two or three months later; the family service agancy closes at three so I wouldn’t be able to work there any more. I got a job at grease pro. I survived the hurricane. the hurricane messed up the hours and the management so I left for a roofing company called royal roof repairs. the pay was tarrable. I was promised $700 but I only got paid $200 for a whole four weeks and my car moter blew up and now I’m searching for a new job so I can pay incurance and get a new car. It’s bin hard and depressing. Well thank you all for seeing me rant. If any one has ideas for me; please let me know. Thank you.

Well i feel i have alot to offer and do not know where to begin so im starting at the begining where i left off is thst a good place to start ?
Can I get some feed back on what is best to do? Should I return to school to pursue more knowledge or try to put what I already have to use while pursuing better opportunities. Yeah.

Offer Extended to me from Bank of America (feeling happy and discouraged)
Hello Y'all,
I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to share:
Yesterday, I interviewed for a position with Bank of America, for a Collections & Recovery Specialist (Business Division.) In the interview the person interviewing me, and I agreed, I was probably over-qualified. However, we discussed the fact that the position is entry-level, it was a way to get my foot in the door. She really liked my experience and told me that after the 6-month contract, you typically get hired and who is to say where I can go. My background is in the legal field and being a corporate/sales software trainer. She mentioned how impressive this was. She is a manager now and told me she started in the same seat I was sitting in and that I would bring a lot to the table for advancement.
I was extended an offer this morning.
Here are the Pro’s:
Pay’s better than unemploymentJob will help fill-in my gap of not working, due to caring for my mom.Offer’s Overtime/bonuses and the hours are from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm.This location is one of the Corporate Operations offices and is located 6 MILES away from home!! Living in California, I can tell you this is the closest I have been to home! Usually commutes take about 3 hours a day via car/trains, etc.Left my company in January to care for my mom, as she became terminal and have been off work since. I have had time to grieve her loss and I can’t help but think, it will do me some good to get back to a work environment and fill my days up once again.
Here are the Con’s:
Pay’s ½ of what I made in my last job. About $30,000 less. (Very discouraging, yet I think I can be frugal and make it until something changes.)I have about 12 weeks of unemployment left.
The company I interviewed with on 10/31 (healthcare trainer), had to delay the final interviews for this position. I really hope and pray this one will come to me. I was notified I was still being considered and will probably not have the final decision until a few weeks from now.
I will continue to keep looking and trust if nothing else comes through, I will start this new job on 1/7/19 and make the best of it and just believe my journey will improve for the better. I keep landing as the runner-up and I now got to be the number 1 choice.
I'm happy and discouraged about the pay, what a feeling! I have been looking and interviewing and have turned downed low paying jobs. Something told me to accept the offer and trust the process.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cindy

Job elimination
I was recently out on FMLA and when I returned I was told my job was eliminated so they could budget a different position. Can they eliminate my job? I thought they had to have a job for me when I returned. I'm considering legal advice. How would others handle it?

Looking to reinvent myself
I love serving my customer accounts and selling solutions to customer issues, but I am becoming weary with working outside in all types of weather and dealing with the peripheral issues behind driving a company vehicle. I am seeking a change in industry, NOT career

Understanding the Job Market after 50+ and how to stay valuable.
I experienced 2 reorg during my career. The first one I was devastated because I did not realize job searching had changed. It was no longer a face to face or a call to set up an interview.
I had even tried going to college because the environment of pressing everyone to go back to school for a ba. It was madness for people over 50+ to go back to school only for credentials to be accepted back into the job market.
I started joining social medias and attending workshops. What I learned was that I had to brand myself and show " humbliness" as to why I would be a value.
I say this because a lot of people 50 and over should not feel they have to redefine themselves by going to school and being in debt to get work.
The goal should be to see where your value is needed and how to attract. I did contract work a few times to fix things that needed improvements. Contract work is temp but if you are looking to get pay at your worth it may not be a bad thing to consider.
The market for 50 plus still exist. You just have to learn where.

6 months looking
I have been looking for a job for 6 months now, I am in IT and have 18+ years of experience and apparently employers here in San Diego want to pay little to no money for positions so they say I am over qualified, I need a job to pay bills and these HR people won't hire me because they want to pay an intern 20 dlls an hour for a job that is worth 25 or 30, this is getting extremely frustrating, I get interviews and I never hear back from them, I get no feedback to help me on search and most are stupid excuses.
I always wondered how people lose their mind and get to low points, now I know.

Thinking outside the box and other possibilities; don't limit your vision.
For what it is worth lend me your ear for a moment. There is nothing wrong with wanting the job of your dreams or desire, but what should you do if that job is not yet within reach. Should you sit and despair and feel sorry for yourself or create an alternative action plan? I suggest that you think outside the box of possibilities. What other marketable skills do you have that will help put money in your pocket, until you are discovered and recruited by that ideal employer? It's reported that there are a lot of available jobs with no one to fill them; why is that? I know of law school graduates who can't find work, which I'm not surprised. Some were smart enough to seek alternative work in other lines of work in order to pay their financial obligations. THINK people, think as if your life depended on it.
I retired from federal government service 11 years ago. I reinvented myself every 5 years, by building upon my skill sets: 23 years IT professional; 10 years as a (collateral duty) employment dispute mediator; organizational change management program manager; retired as the agency's diversity officer. What did these skills have in common--(problem resolution and process improvement). I have my own private practice as a dispute resolution professional. Good luck with your journey!

Needing guidence
I really need encouragement I've been looking for a job since September it's been very frustrating however I'm keeping hope never giving up

Temporary Agencies the Gateway to full time employment
As a former branch manager for MANPOWER temporary services I cannot emphasize enough about 1st impressions. When you walk into a temp agency you must be as prepared as if you were walking into a Fortune 500 company. You must impress me for me to put you out there to work for one of my clients. It is no accident. How you "behave" on the job can and will secure your future. Temp to perm is real. I have witnessed success stories time and time again. It is all up to you to believe in your worth and you will be rewarded 10 fold. Good luck to all , I am your biggest fan/ cheerleader! Sincerely, Colleen
