Advice Needed For An Upcoming Interview
I have an upcoming interview on the 22nd of this month with a national defense company. I interviewed with the organization for a different position and was not selected for that position; however, I persisted by applying for other positions and received this interview. Receiving an interview with the company was a result of my response to pre-screen questions they had emailed me. I know that I tend to write very well and have been told by interviewers that they were impressed by my cover letter. However, I feel that even though I did well in my last interview, I am now nervous about this upcoming interview. Does anyone have any advice on how I can better prepare myself for this interview? I know I will be interviewing for the Lab’s Earth and Environmental Sciences Division for the position of Administrative Assistant. There will be a panel of six or more people interviewing me. How best can I prepare myself for this interview?
Your suggestions are deeply appreciated. Thank you!

Relocation and Resume Issue
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to relocate to Greenville, NC from Philadelphia within the next three weeks, with my two sons.
My daughter will be going down first to begin high school on time, while I secure a vehicle and drive down the first or second week in Sep.
I have housing secured (staying with close family) so that is not an issue. The biggest dilema I am having is whether or not to put my current address on my resume, or the address where I will be living.
I am currently applying for teaching jobs both k-12, and/or college, university. I have my Masters degree( non-certufied) but don't want to rely on that solely, especially being new to an area. However, I want and need to have a job secured or promise of a job, before I move.
I want to be honest about where I'm moving from, but wonder if employers may be overlooking my resume because of location.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Christolyn

Applications under Review with the Same Company - How long can this take, does anyone know??
Good afternoon!
I've applied for multiple jobs with APL Logistics, and have been following up to view my status at least twice a week, and two of those positions still show "under review" ?
My question is, at what point do you just assume they've just not updated their status against your personal profile and moved forward with another candidate?
One is almost six weeks ago, and the other is from about four weeks ago. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thank you! Ann

Finding a new job in a new state
Hi all
I'm looking to move from NJ to Dallas and find a new job there. It is because NJ has barely any jobs left in my field, the cost of living is out of this world, and I just overall don't care for a lot of the politics here anymore. (LOL) Important to keep in mind, I am 35 years old with no wife, no kids. I have 8 years accumulated work experience and a 4 year degree on the CV.
What I'm hoping to seek from here is sound advice on the best strategy to make this move smoothly. Keep in mind I am not currently unemployed, so I will be starting from scratch, so to speak. Also I will tell you what I have done SO FAR to make this work.
A) Do not move until I find the job by applying on the internet, linkedin, etc.
Advantage: Costs less
Disadvantage: Companies move onto the next candidate knowing that I'm coming from 1300 miles away and it may take a month for me to get down there.
B) Move down there with saved money I have to cover the first months rent of a decent place, and then start the interviewing. Advantage: On the ground, don't have to keep flying back and forth, all my stuff is down there and I'm ready to go Disadvantage: Moving costs and living costs without income.
What I've done so far is start networking with my cousin is a project engineer. He's recruiters are helpful but so far (since May) I haven't heard anything solid. I've been down there 3 times for job fairs, networking, and connecting with new friends and professionals. I've also applied to Verizon on many phone interviews but that is very competitive.
Thank you in advance. Jim

Age, careers
I'm 50, getting divorced, sah mother. Is trade school worth it at my age? Too expensive? Is something like beauty field - hair stylist worth it at my age? Would I get hired out of Beauty School at my age with no experience? Anything at community college worth looking into besides health and computer?? What about culinary?

How can a shut-in like me get a job?
I have been struggling to find a job for over a year now. I've signed many job applications, been to multiple interviews(some for the same place) and have gotten nowhere. There were times that I contacted the store myself to show them that I'm serious about wanting this job. Still accomplished nothing. I was even willing to take long bus rides out the city to attend certain interviews. All of my attempts ended in failure. It's gotten to the point where I would get depressed just thinking about it. I just can't help but feel like something is wrong with me. I'm socially awkward(only time I'm social is online when I talk about anime and videogames, which is what I love). I sometimes studder. It's hard for me to get enthusiastic about certain things like I'm too calm at times. So how can a 22 year old like me get employed and stop viewing himself as a failure.

Negotiating salary
I interviewed with big company last week. I believe I had the job closed. Had a good connection with the 4 management team leaders. Although the salary posted in the job add on the Internet was incorrect. About 20,000.00 more then what it paid. When it came to the salary negotiations I said a number that was in line with what was posted. The guy stopped breathing when I told him the number and that it was posted. He then said he would have to check in into the add and he would give me a call in the next couple days. 2 days went by and I called him to check in at which time he told me that what I asked for was not the salary budget. I explained that I am still very interested in the position and would love to come to an agreement. He said he wanted to go ahead and interview a couple more people and will get a hold of me with in the next two weeks. My concern is; and question... How do I approach the concern of the employer in me starting on a lower salary, that I will not be discouraged in my job and will still give 100 percent? I have a few other offers but felt in my belly that this was the right move. I would hate for both me and the company to losee out over a typo. Has anyone ever delta with this and how did it turn out? Any advice is welcome.

Money Stolen
So I've been at this new job a month now & this new server decided to take my tip off my table while I was dealing with other customers..Idk if I should tell my manager & have her run the cameras back cause it really upsets me that we have ppl like this in the workplace, I dont steal from anyone so i expect the same in return, if i choose to help clean one of the servers table and there's a tip I'll automatically tell them theres a tip on the table and allow them to come get it before i touch the table so that theres no issues but not everybody moves like that. Smh what should i do cause im pretty sure its not her first time doing that.

accent
I speak French and English I am CMA(CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT). So far I had more than 25 job interviews. Sometimes, the first question I was asked " Do you have any problem with your accent ? or where are you from". I am very smart and hard worker and my accent does not stop me to do a good job. Please,I need your help because I am very tired to deal with such questions. What I am supposed to do next time if the question was asked? Thank you and God bless all
