What do YOU think is a reasonable minimum wage?

A few Philly restaurants are hiking their minimum wage to $15/hour, even though the rest of the city and state are not. Some folks say it's the difference between a job and career. What do you think the minimum wage should be?

There really isn't one, because it's different for different people and levels of experience. Therefore it makes no sense to have one, because it will never be satisfactory enough. It often creates animosity and hardships in the workplace; especially when a small biz is forced to pay a certain wage. What ends up happening is you have inexperienced and experienced people essentially earning the same or similar amount. It cripples hiring, promotion, and seniority. Pay should be based on merit. The job market should be based on merit.

Think about it. How many places do you go to that is automated. You can order anything online. Self checkout. So keep trying to increase minimum wage everything will be automated and no one will have a job.

Minimum wage jobs exist to create a workforce down the road, and should NOT be used exclusively to live on. Therefore, reasonable doesn't enter into it.

I FEAL THAT 15 dolla per hour is fair .does the rest of the country feel that people on minimum wage should be able to pay for a place to live. I have been in the restaurant business for 30 years and I was offered a job at 12 dollars per hour. witch is embarrassing since I was making 12 dollars per hour 30 years ago
