Before applying to a Truck Driver job, make sure you have a valid CDL license, clean driving record, and relevant experience driving commercial vehicles. Familiarize yourself with Department of Transportation regulations and safety guidelines. Consider joining Jobcase, as well as other job search providers, to find Truck Driver positions that match your qualifications and preferences.
You want to make sure it's something you want to do, it's a lifestyle not a job, especially if you decide to run OTR. 2) pick a reputable company to train you or a company that just trains drivers make sure they both know what they're doing and they're reputable, 3)Learn as much as you can and don't be afraid to ask questions after all it's your time and money your putting into it, some company's will train you but then you are stuck with them untill you've paid their training off,
4) expect to go out with a trainer when you get hired, usually about 30 to 60 days before they cut you loose on your own, 5) and this is the most important part, take your job seriously but keep it fun and lite hearted it will make time go by so much easier and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I was fun and exciting for over 40 years. Sincerely Don O/O DnL trucking.
