What is the best way to negotiate salary after getting an offer?
Imagine this scenario: You get the offer, but it's less than you were hoping for. You don't want the company to rescind the offer, but you also don't want to leave money on the table. What's the best way to go about this?

@Bill Branstetter, I think I would show nothing but gratitude for the position at first. Then I would be more than I thought I could be when I begin the position, and if, and only if, I felt worthy, I would ask to speak to the one that can increase my wages....
