That’s not unlimited PTO. That’s unpaid leave with a corporate rebrand. If my pay drops every time I take time off, it’s basically a penalty, not a benefit.

No, that's not really unlimited paid time off is it? I work at a job where I have unlimited time off. We were bought out, and I used to have 8 weeks with my former employer. Thing is with unlimited time off, people don't take PTO that much. Sounds weird but I heard that before I started. In my last company, I made sure that I took 8 weeks of PTO. I took 2 weeks in the last 6 months of 2025, and I have taken like 2 days PTO this year. Unlimited vacation sounds great, and I guess is. But they are offering you unlimited unpaid vacation if they are reducing your pay when you take it.
