Your new employer wants you to start immediately but your current employer wants you to finish a two-week notice period. What do you do?

Honor my first job. Integrity matters.

Tell your future employer that you are bound to fulfill your obligations to your current employer. If they don’t see that as an asset you don’t need to work there

Finish out the right way. Give appropriate notice, offer to transition or otherwise support knowledge transfer. End on a good note.

Talk with both parties and know that you are an employee who is responsible. And if there can be a compromise I'd like to think that my 2 week notice is a promise I made to the first employer. I am a man of my word. And I hope to still satisfy my new and valued employer!!!!!

I believe it all depends on your current employer if it's hostile, I don't think a notice is going to help, only worsen the situation.

I value professionalism. Negotiating a compromise to honor both commitments respectfully would be ideal.

Possibly burn the candle at both ends for the 2wks. You get double the money and both jobs are fulfilled.

Talk to doth of them and see what I can work out with them

I talk to both of them and see what I can do to work it out with both of them.
In this situation, it’s essential to prioritize professionalism and communication. I would discuss the conflicting timelines with both employers and try to find a mutually agreeable solution, perhaps by negotiating a compromise or finding ways to contribute remotely during the notice period. Open communication is key in such scenarios.
