Career Pivot?
In the Boise Area, I'm attempting a career pivot. I've had about 3 years total experience in what I'm trying to break into while the rest of my working career has been in Customer service. I've done work in payroll and that inspired to grow into light accounting/bookkeeping/admin work because I really love it. I've had interviews and can't seem to land a job due to experience even when I'm applying for entry level positions. What more can I do to prove I'm capable of the job? I just need someone to give me a chance #jobsearch

Bookkeeping is great and something you can even start your own business with. I would suggest getting certified in Quickbooks. That is used by most small business for accounting. However, don't spend 1000s of dollar taking the course. Look for a community college course. Or learn it on your own and take the test to get certified. My other advice would be to look into H&R block and any other tax agencies. They hire lots of people with varied experience during tax season. Even if you get a entry-level position, it will help you build your resume.
Hi Haily! I also enjoy bookkeeping! I had to teach myself how to do it when I opened my business, which was not an easy task to be honest. While the Hiring Managers you’ve been dealing with have said you need more experience, that could also mean training. Have you considered taking an online course to develop your skill set? I would suggest looking into Quickbooks and the training they’re able to offer!
