What should I know before I interview for a remote data entry job?
The company wants you to be detail oriented and dependable. They want to know how many KPH you type. You may have to take a test. You can contact a temp agency and talk to them about testing to see what your speed is. It is speed and accuracy of letters and numbers. I taught myself how to key the numbers without looking. You will also need internet, a hard connection. They don’t want Wi-fi. Some places supply the equipment and some don’t. I hope this helps. Good luck!😊
Well I started with a plain laptop. And I moved to a touch screen. It’s about the speed of the computer and how well you can work with getting on other people’s network. Sometimes you have to be able to troubleshoot. And people who are going to be mean just need to be quiet! Good luck!
Definitely inquire as to whether the hours are set or will vary, depending on business needs. Also, you can expect that a requirement will be high speed, reliable internet and you will need enough storage space for the programs they will have you download, to support what you will be doing. You may, also, have to troubleshoot some of your own tech issues, so be sure to ask how much of the tech troubleshooting will be your responsibility. Also, find out if it's just data entry, or if you will have customers to handle while on a phone system (VoIP).
If you don't know about data entry it's keying numbers and letters..my experience 40+yrs off and on...I use it as a second job as an x business owner I always asked "how dependable are you" how they answered is how I knew...unless you do DE now you may want to practice your skills..DE is speed and accuracy of letters (typing) or numbers (keying) I do by touch (no looking at keyboard)...you will be asked to take a test or 2...Good Luck
