Is a two-week notice still important when resigning? Why or why not?

Yes very important.

I see both side however. In today’s culture a two weeks notice is over reaching. Most companies terminate you that day or within a couple of days . Then you have a “fired/terminated” on your employment. If I’m quitting I’m not going back.

Always leave a job in a positive manner and supportive. Try not to speak I'll or out of the side of your mouth. Show gratitude and express graciousness.

Yes it is it gives the employers time to find someone to fill (train)your position and it is always a plus to leave on good standards for recommendations from the existing employer later on in life.

Yes, a two week notice is important to give head up notice before retiring

Yes

I don't believe in it because employees don't get 2 weeks notice, so why should an employer. We have bills, families, life responsibilities. It should be a two way street or nothing at all.

That's right not only to be professional but you never know what tomorrow holds you might need to come back and ask for ur job back

Well yes
Yes I do. It shows good character as well as not burning a bridge in case you have to attempt to come back
