I worked at a book store (pre-kindle) and people would go nuts to get a copy of the big sellers/authors. Some were not very kind when you explained that we weren't allowed to "hold" copies, but that they could pre-pay and we'd call them when it came in... The store would get crushed with people, strategically right in front of the registers. It was mayhem.
