If a coworker was clearly overwhelmed, would you offer to help even if it meant falling behind on your own work?

Yes, because that person might help me one day. I can usually catch up and if I had to explain why I fell behind; then, management will understand getting a better person.

Absolutely!! Building trust to become a GREAT Team member should be a must do, not oh well I guess I will do.

I would offer to help if I could — even if it meant adjusting my own workload. We’re a team, and sometimes stepping up for each other is the right thing to do. That said, I’d also try to communicate with my manager to prioritize tasks and make sure nothing critical gets dropped. Supporting a coworker doesn’t mean sacrificing performance — it means finding a way to succeed together.
