It depends on if it's a store cashier gas station cashier or fast food cashier or parts cashier stuff like that because most cashier jobs are running a register which is simple computer skills and some math skills as well as alot of lifting usually anywhere from 1pound to 100pounds and its frequent lifting of various weights along with long hours on your feet for all of it and of course cleaning the place for anytime that your not running a register so it's multiple things to look for like what type of cashier how heavy of things to lift how often and hours also pay is huge as alot of gas stations don't pay very well

First of all, what is your motive? Why are you interested in a cashier position? Is it because you need a job, money, do something or you really want to serve all kinds of people? Maybe ask yourself am I here to serve me or am I here to serve the people because this job will take every bit of you - your patience, understanding, listening, physical activity and or.

Honestly, as a grocery cashier, I would say maybe if ur use to standing on ur feet in one spot for long periods of time. Even the most experienced cashiers have to lean, which some managers/companies hateeeee. Some people will say customers are the big test, but really bad customers come and go. I can tell you I only got yelled at a handful of times by a customer as a cashier compared to hundreds of times as a customer service rep. in the span of a year.
