State revokes $300 unemployment in June - do you think that's fair?

We've heard that companies are having a hard time finding workers, and that has pushed the state of #Montana to stop paying out the $300 federal #unemployment as of June 2021 (rather than September). Looks like they're hoping to instead pay incentives go back to work.

I totally agree with Montana. Go to work. They are setting an example for those taking advantage of the system which so many are.

I worked for the unemployment dept for 22 years in California. Because people are receiving more money from unemployment than they would earn working full-time and paid minimum wage they are not interested in returning to work. That is one reason why our economy is in such a mess!!!

That’s not exactly true. I lost my job due to the pamdrmic. I am 60 years old. Sure there are a lot of jobs out there. I have filled out many, many applications. But as soon as they find out how old i am, I no longer qualify. I thought age discrimination was illegal but it’s still out there, believe me.

if we stop handing out free money, people will have an incentive to go back to work.

Absolutely wrong for others to make assumptions that people are just not wanting to work. The same people who were living in poverty are in even worse situation now. So tired of people being selfish and discriminatory.

What are these companies willing to pay per hour or salary. People who have been unemployed due to Covid pandamic have lost their homes, cars, everything. What type of jobs are available? I am an insurance adjuster, not property and cannot find work. I made 83K per year. Anyone hiring?: Ive been applying for jobs for over 1 year.

I wish people would stop with the negative remarks about the unemployed not wanting to work. I’m not sure who can really live off of unemployment. If it wasn’t for the Grace of God and my savings I would be out on the street. I’ve been out of work for a year due to this pandemic. I faithfully get up and put in job applications. I have reached out to people for any leads, but still unemployed. Don’t assume that this is a way of living for people. I started working at the age of 14, so I’m not afraid to work. I had some interviews but that was it. One interview I was told that nobody wants to work, but turns around and tells me that I live to far out for the job. So, I’m telling her I’m willingly to take that 35-40 minute drive for a job. I still wasn’t offer the job. So, is it that the unemployed people really don’t want to work or is it that some companies want to pick and chose if they really want to hire anyone. Before, any negative comments about being qualified for these jobs, I’m well qualified for the jobs I apply for. So if you were able to keep your job, good for you. Please stop judging the unemployed people on your assumptions.
