What duties would I need to complete as a part-time Caregiver?

Personal Care 🧼 Helping the person with daily hygiene and body care. Bathing or showering Dressing them Helping with brushing teeth or hair Helping them use the bathroom Changing adult diapers if needed Helping them move around (bed → chair, walking, wheelchair)
Medication Reminders 💊 Reminding them to take medicine at the right time Sometimes organizing pills in a pill box (Caregivers usually remind, not prescribe medicine.)
Cooking & Feeding 🍽️ Preparing meals Making sure they eat and drink enough Feeding them if they can’t feed themselves
Light Housekeeping 🧹 Washing dishes Doing laundry Cleaning their room or living space Changing bed sheets
Transportation & Errands 🚗 Driving them to doctor appointments Picking up prescriptions Grocery shopping Running small errands
Companionship ❤️ This is actually a big part. Talking with them Watching TV or playing games Keeping them company so they don’t feel lonely
Monitoring Health 👀 Watching for changes in mood, behavior, or health Reporting problems to family or nurses
Mobility Support 🦯 Helping them walk safely Preventing falls Assisting with exercises if prescribed

Depends on the person ... assist with bathing, dressing, using bathroom, house keeping, sweep, mop, run vacuum, dust, clean bathroom, toilet, sink, tub/shower, trash, dishes, cook meals or assist with meal prep, put groceries away if necessary, laundry, companionship with clients and anything else client may ask.

you dont have to be licensed to be a caregiver but if you arent you need to know what your limitations are for liability reasons if you want a license it would be a cna or and homehealth aide liscense there is assistance to pay for the class as far as meds yiu dont give meds you just remind them but you never touch them or set them up if something happens a reaction or od or anything due to a medication you could be held responsible

pt carrgiver is simply under under 32 hours a week but as a care giver your duties would be anything ft care givee didnt do and whatever time pemits duties shouldnt change is they are things that are reasonable if time doesnt permit than you speak with the client or family and come up with a schedule of duties that need completed how often and what time of day and you make a schedule that works for you and them but pt status shouldnt change responsibility

Leah - Your responsibilities could run from walking with client to helping client bathe. My duties might include: reminding client to take meds, going to appts or gym or shopping with client, light housework, etc. Your employer will let you know what particular client needs. Agencies generally train caregivers.

Anything that is there to be done for a caregiver

It comes from the Heart ❤️

Well your basic daily living skills,ie; assist with dressing, bathing, feeding if necessary.. Hopefully, this helps?:)

You will need to enroll at your local community college or do training at a nursing home. Some of the duties include taking vitals, medical terminology, bathing, feeding patients. Good luck
Already a caregiver but I don't get paid for it
