Hardship Program
Hello there! Are you struggling from short term or long term unemployment? Can't pay bills or make ends meet? Are you facing losing your home?
I just re-launched my company's hardship program to re-write Resumes, make cover letters, improve LinkedIn Profiles and help with applying for jobs on behalf of the client online. The value of this is over $100 for those who can pay but FREE to those who really need my assistance.
I am compassionate and care about others and I can relate because I lost my job in 2009 and was homeless for years.
All I need is for you to complete my hardship letter that I will e-mail to you once you contact me thru my website and services for you will begin.
All I ask is that you "pay it forward" to someone else what I do for you and let others know about my program if they need help too.
I can be reached at: https://resumedivacompany.net
There is an orange button on the bottom of each page that you can click on to send me a message and a Contact Us page.
I am the only employee of my small business but my husband occassiionally helps me out when we get busy.
I appreciate Jobcase for helping me get my business started two years ago. My career has been a great new beginning for me. I want to keep offering help to Jobcasers now and in the future.
Thank you all so much!
Kind Regards, Lucinda Kerrigan, CPRW
P.S. Giving back is always a good thing!

What do others do?
Hello, I'm a CPRW for the past 10 years, am self-employed, have no employees, so I do everything. I get the majority of my clients through LinkedIn's ProFinder program, which has been very good to me. The way it works is first, I had to apply and accepted to be a "pro," then people who need resume writing services (it's just one area of many) will fill out a request sheet that asks minimal information. I get sent requests based on the criteria LinkedIn has set and I get a ton - sometimes 50+ per day.
There's a 1,000 character limit for a 'proposal,' which I've prewritten and is general. I ask for a copy of a resume and will do a critique (this is the key to my success) explain my process and provide a firm quote. I literally increased my income by about 500% the first year. So, it works for me.
However, there are a few things that drive me crazy and I don't know what to do about them. I get a high response rate so then I'll provide general information (again prewritten) but when they do send a resume the critiques are primarily custom written. They do take time and nothing ticks me off more than spending an hour writing a critique to get no response, despite follow-ups. Then, there are people who commit. Yet, in my book, there is no commitment until I get a payment. They can say yes all they want, but until I see $$ there is nothing keeping them from walking. I'm finding myself spending more time and effort trying to close prospective clients, then get paid and often have days no work is done.
Obviously, I need a steady stream of business or I don't eat. It's hard to chase people for money when they're paying up front and I've been known to help out and allow them to split the cost in half, etc. So, I'm fair and reasonable. I have one "client" who I invoiced on 1/10 and all I hear is promises. When we're talking $400 or so, I'm not so quick to just let them walk. Yet, these people all have approached me with interest. This is after the initial proposal and they want more info and rates. So they come to me, I do my thing, then in many cases never hear another word. It's rude, disrespectful and puts me in a bad situation because they'll often pop back up 2 months later and want to play. I'm just getting so tired of what I have to go through to get clients. I'm exhausted. Everyone has some 'special' issue, wants to talk, or other things that take time. (I do talk to all clients once they return the worksheet I send them.) SO I do give personal service, but right now I have clients who owe me at least $1,000 and have $.33 in my PayPal account!
Am I the only one who has these problems? How do you handle it?? Thanks much.

Certified Professional Resume Writer available
Hi everyone! My name is Lucinda Kerrigan. I became a Professional Resume Writer and Career Consultant two years ago this month thanks to all of you on Jobcase! I am doing really well these days (just got a laptop finally!) so it has allowed me to do more Resumes. I do not have any clients right now and was just sitting here at my desk working on my new website and some administrative tasks and was thinking about posting a "hello" to all of you.
No pressure and I am not trying to sell anything just wanted to share my website with all of you and thank you for two wonderful years in business!

I have a hardship program available for those who can't afford to pay due to long term unemployment or financial struggles. I am in the process of adding a new page to my website detailing how it works. I hope everyone is doing well today. Be kind to each other, stay positive and SMILE! Monday is almost over! Have a great day!

Age and Job application tactics
Hello to everyone, I won a green card diversity this year. My job is Marine Superintendent and I am 50 years old. I am planning to work in the United States in January 2019. I have been working for about 3 months. However, I was able to have 2 online business interviews.
At this stage I rescheduled my resume. I just set it up in 2 pages. . Thank you for your reference in this regard.
Now I look forward to a positive development. What should I do to accept business? I would be grateful if you would like advice on preliminary writing, job interviews and age-related difficulties.
Many thanks
Ugur

The Real Issue
I'm not sure about anyone else, but my resume is not the issue nor is my writing skills. I always write a cover letter for any position I am applying for, I feel that the real issue here is that most of these businesses really don't know what skills or experience they need to take on the opportunities they need support in, so, they seek resumes from different areas, and making the job description based on the resumes they receive, is this fair? NO, but it's the only thing they can do to get a thread of interest going. Just be ready when the notices come "Are you Interested", just be ready people.

Help on starting a resume
I need help on writing a resume. However, I don't know the first thing on how to write one, especially since I have no previous work experience and most of the websites I found weren't too helpful. Any and all constructive suggestions are welcome.

Resume writing
Does anyone know of a resume writing service that is not fake? I am not looking for someone that takes my money and i never hear from them again. I can call the number they provide. I am not interested in listening to Fleetwood Mac all day. Don't stop believing Don't stop thinking about tomorrow. It is a nice song but somewhat of a insult when I am attempting to have a conversation with someone who claims to provide excellent service.
