Are there any jobs that accept felons? I’ve been sober for 5 years now. I volunteer and teach “smart recovery” at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital. I am very dependable and hardworking. I just can’t seem to find any decent jobs.

I felt proud to work for #FLDOC when...I was a Chaplain at at major correctional institution. I worked 10 years as Chaplain and it was the best time I served in ministry.

How does someone with 4 felony convictions but now has 5 yrs clean and sober pass a background check? I can't get a job anywhere even though I turned my life around.
I am an overcome and have had one enormous challenge in my life. However, that obstacle has been overcome, thankfully. My work history speaks for itself. I am a team player, but am quite capable of working on my own in order to meet deadlines, meet optimal productivity and all other goals that the work may require.
I am well spoken, well educated and have an excellent work ethic. I am looking for a career with a company that has an excellent culture, benefits and promotional options.

Felon-friendly part-time ideas?
Hi all! I'm 41F and I'm having g a hard time finding felon-friendly work in a part-time position (I'm disabled, so can't work full-time). If it matters, my felony is for distribution. Thanks all, in advance!
Hi Katie, remember that it is our jobs to educate our communities about the dangers of recividism and that not allowing men and women who have gotten felonies in their pasts a chance and making better choices and hiring them instead of rejecting them where they do not have the ability to take care of themselves therefore they turn to the old habbits, the only way they have to provide for themselves. By encouraging these men and women and giving them the opportunity to do the right things, good things will happen. Right now you have to go through about 20 no's before you will get a yes. So for now, accept those no's with a smile, knowing that you are one step closer to your your yes. There is an organization called Prison Fellowship Ministries, that gives us the chance to be a Justice Advocate for the men and women behind bars. Justice Advocates contact their State Representatives and try to tell them the importance of these issues and try to get laws passed that will help felons get the right amount of time for their crime, constructive correction while they are in prison and guidance for getting a job, housing and a chance to provide for themselves the right way. If nobody tries to educate our communities and our Representatives about the importance of helping not halting our brothers and sisters behind bars, the situation will only get worse. Keep a positive attitude and get those "No's" out of the way so you can get your yes and then give your best effort to be your best new self everyday and that will pave the way for men and women who have felonies to get second chances and support and end recividism for good. They give you all the support you need to go to your representatives and communities to start to get rid of this. I encourage you to do this and spread the word......This is a real problem. Good luck in your search for employment and remember the no's are necessarily a bad thing so don't get discouraged, get the no's out of the way so you can get your YES....and start working.
