Hi @Jessica Renshaw , welcome to the jobcase community. I can see why you're concerned considering your current situation. Job roles and hiring opportunities may be limited but you still can find new job opportunities if you're open alternative job opportunities.

You can find job search and application tips on our Second Chances Resource Center. The Department of Unemployment career page CareerOneStop also has some excellent tools and local employment support services for jobseekers currently facing similar concerns.

Do you have strong references? What's your work schedule availability? The foodservice, warehouse, construction and retail industries are known for their second chance friendly hiring practices. You may want to start there. Temp agencies also have a lot more flexibility with their hiring.

To start your job search use the Jobs tool on this page to query for new job listings and hiring opportunities available in your preferred work location, (city/state). We also keep an updated list of hiring news on our #workfromhome and #hiringnews topic pages. Use the links above to immediately access the list of jobs and connect right back with us on this post if you have any questions.

Also, share some of your top job preferences with us, and we will use your information to match you up with job leads and hiring opportunities that fit your immediate job needs and future career goals.

Stay Encouraged!

Need help

Are there any jobs that accept felons? I’ve been sober for 5 years now. I volunteer and teach “smart recovery” at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital. I am very dependable and hardworking. I just can’t seem to find any decent jobs.

I felt proud to work for #FLDOC when...I was a Chaplain at at major correctional institution. I worked 10 years as Chaplain and it was the best time I served in ministry.

Prison is a great place to minister as a christian.

How does someone with 4 felony convictions but now has 5 yrs clean and sober pass a background check? I can't get a job anywhere even though I turned my life around.

Felon Friendly Job Ops in 2024

I don't usually post links to sites such as the one below but there is so much good information in this one, including a huge list of employers who are located in Ban the Box States or cities or who have signed the Fair Chance Pledge. There is a formidable list of companies to explore along with some straightforward information about what it takes for someone with a felony background to find suitable employment.

Finding a job as a felon can be pretty frustrating but my favorite quote is in this article. Even a blind man will hit something if he throws enough rocks!

Take some time to check out this article, hit some of those links & come back to Jobcase to be sure your profile is completed so employment opportunities can be sent to you via email. Remember that Jobcase has resume building tools & insights as well as AI functions to help you make the most of your resumes & cover letters.

Good luck & hey, keep throwing those "rocks"!
