Skills:
• Design and code from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software apps • Uses coding methods in specific programming languages to initiate or enhance program execution and functionality • Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions • Perform project management of estimating, scheduling, and monitoring tasks • Performs expert-level engineering tasks associated with the analysis, design, and development of computer hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and/or operating systems • Develop, maintain, and report intranet metrics • Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments • Manage, administer, and maintain all internet and intranet sites • Research/analyze data processing functions, methods and procedures - Monitor program execution for expected performance
Required Qualifications:
• BS in IT/Computer related degree • 5+ years of software development experience with 2+ years of experience developing native iOS mobile applications (including UI implementation, WebView integration, consumption of XML/JSON/REST services, and CoreData/databases) • 2+ years of experience in iOS (XCode / Objective-C / Swift) – Swift preferred. • Experience with the iOS Human Interface Guidelines (HIG). • Experience creating adaptive layouts using Storyboards, AutoLayout, SizeClasses. • Solid knowledge of the mobile industry. Intimate knowledge of iOS devices, platform and application experiences. • Passion for great application architecture and user-experience. • General understanding of the mobile industry, mobile networking, and cloud/content services.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications (In addition to the Required Qualifications):
• 2+ years of experience with RDBMS (SQL Server or Oracle) or NoSQL (MongoDB, CassandraDB, etc.) • Experience with Git, Jira, and Jenkins tools. • Knowledge and previous experience/analysis of telecommunications & entertainment products & services, business processes, and back-office systems is desired. • Having published one or more applications to the Apple iTunes App Store is a plus.

Where to go after the degree?
I am finishing my degree in a few weeks and I have been looking actively since January but I have ran into the issue that all employers want experience. Now I have years of retail and sales experience but I am finishing my degree in computer science so I want to find a job in the IT field. If anyone had suggestions or if they know of an entry level position in the Phoenix please let me know.
Just a little more information about my job search activity: I have applied for approximately 50 jobs a week for close to 5 months and have only gone on 8 in person interviews and 15 over the phone interviews. The biggest issue people seem to have is that I do not have experience.

I enjoy programming, but not as much as my CS classmates and I am not as good at it and I’m not particularly enjoying the math courses I've been taking in my CS program. I still want to work in the tech industry on the technical not business side. What opportunities are there?
How do I Talk to My Boss About My Position and Career Plans?
I'm beginning to feel a personal desire to start advancing my career and do more focused, specialized things within the IT world. I've been doing primarily Helpdesk technical support for about 3 years and it's honestly wearing me out. I really like where I am working, but I know I could make 15-20% higher salary looking elsewhere. I'm caught between the comfort of an employer and workplace I really like, and the desire to do more with my career and by proxy increase my income (which helps other things). I know I need to at least talk to my boss about my current position, where I'd like to be in the near future, and how it all fits into the bigger picture with the company, but I have literally no idea how to go about it. I want to be sure I approach this such that our conversation doesn't imply I want to leave, but I also want to make sure my point gets across that staying in this position is not in my plan for myself.
