How to I break free from the data storage realm anto the virtualization field in a short period of time?

Sounds good

I was apart of a very large data storage company for over 13 years and of course they merged with another giant Dell. Needless to say myself and many others were apart of a workforce redistribution... My severance is almost run out in about a month and half and have been interviewing a lot. Due to the project specific nature of one specific app I was working on with my former employer, I lost touch with a lot of the original Storage Engineer skills I had years ago when I started. Now it's like I study and prepare day and night for a job role, get to the third interview and they throw in a few questions i should of known or try to stress test me . My real passion is VMware and virtualization and have a cert in VMware but no one will give me a chance unless you worked with it every day... I'm learning new things from each interview but I really want to break out of the storage market and get trained, certified as quick as possible on the latest and greatest hot in demand VMware products or a company to give me a chance to prove myself. Next is unemployment and I lose my apt, what do I do? I've been looking for a boot camp but they all get the same hokey reviews.....
