Front Desk
As a Patient Service Representative, in the front desk role, you will be greeting patients who arrive in the department. Front desk/Check In responsibilities include completing full registration, entering demographics, insurance verification, collecting copays, acquire signatures for all documentation, activation, and support for MyChart, and scanning all collected documentations. The front desk team communicates through Teams and provides direct rooming for patient safety. As a front desk employee, you will have occasional phone usage and all PSRs may be asked to help with staffing needs, such as Check In or Scheduling, while creating a friendly environment for all the patients.
Float Pool
As a Patient Service Representative, in the float pool role, you will be responsible for coverage at any Ambulatory location and an eight-hour shift between the hours of 7:00a – 7:00p. You will be helping with all roles of the PSR position; Check In, Check Out, Scheduling, etc. While in each department, your responsibilities include greeting patients, completing full registration, entering demographics, insurance verification, collecting copays, acquire signatures for all documentation, scanning all collected documentations, scheduling patients as needed for referral and/or requests, activation/support for MyChart, and have occasional phone usage. All departments communicate through Teams, including within the Float Pool team. As a float, you will be working alongside many different peers and leadership within the Ambulatory departments while creating a friendly environment for all the patients.
Check Out/Desk Scheduling:
As a Patient Service Representative, in the scheduling role, you will be greeting patients during the Check Out process for the patients in your department. The Scheduling responsibilities include completing full registration, entering demographics, insurance verification, scanning all collected documentation, and activation and support for MyChart. The scheduling team communicates through Microsoft Teams with clinical staff and occasional phone usage. All PSRs may be asked to help with staffing needs, such as Check In or Scheduling, while creating a friendly environment for all the patients.
Non-Patient Facing Scheduling:
As a Patient Service Representative, in the scheduling role, you will be greeting and scheduling patients during in bound and out bound phone conversations within a non-patient facing environment; off-site, office space; call center, etc. The Scheduling responsibilities include completing full registration, entering demographics, insurance verification, and activation/support for MyChart. The scheduling team communicates through Microsoft Teams with clinical staff. All PSRs may be asked or rotated to help with staffing needs, such as Check In or Check Out, while creating a friendly environment for all the patients.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Able to read and write in English
- Understand and speak English, ability to communicate clearly
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe and Office.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with others, maintain confidentiality and use good judgment
