Do you prefer to work for a Small Retail Store or Larger Store?
My experience I worked both small & larger Retail stores. I enjoy working at a larger Retail Store. I love being busy. The day goes by very fast. I enjoyed interacting with new customers daily. Love to know your thoughts. Comment below. #retail

Hmm..both have their perks! Smaller stores have more hours & their clientele is usually smaller, so they have more regular customers. Larger stores have better hours, more co-workers, & more room for advancement.

Large store. For me, they are more fun. If you don't like one dept you can always move to another.

@Florence Love I've always wanted to work in a small retail store so that I could develop relationships with folks in the community and feel committed to the product I was selling. I grew up down the street from a tiny stationary store, and always felt working there would be fun because it was quiet, more intimate, and the product was high quality. The lights and noise and crowd of a huge clothing store would overwhelm me quickly, I'm sure! (although I do love being busy!) 💜

it depends on the pay. the hours. and the culture. i wouldn't work any retail if it doesn't suit me.

In my experience, I prefer working in a larger store due to the hours I get, and the flexibility. For smaller stores, I feel that I won't be getting many hours.

Agree with above. I'v worked in small mom & pop and non profit stores. Yes I made more but my hours were seasonal and I spent a lot of time chit chatting and doing nothing. Not for me, right now I'm enjoying working corporate retail in a resort store. I work 3 days a wk, don't have a paid lunch and only make min. wage but don't have to hear all the gossip and small town back n' forth drama.

I totally agree! It's nice to be part of a big bustling company, running around and making things happen, rather than minding a sleepy little shop, to put it bluntly! Heh-heh! I have had good experiences in both, but I know what I like at this point in my career, and what incentivizes me.
What I learned in retail is having patients, being empathetic, and also being a multitasker.
