Pay for prospective employer to run my background check?
So I was approached for recruitment by a prominent insurance company despite not yet being a licensed insurance agent. The interview was great and the recruiter made it clear I was a desirable candidate... BUT! I would have to pay for my own classes to take the insurance test, for which I would also have to pay. I don't really mind that, although the two people I know who needed to get their license were covered by their employers. However, I'm expected to pay for the background test. That seems out of line. Thoughts and experiences? #backgroundcheck #insurance #licensed

Paying for your background check should not be your responsibility. Unless they are reimbursing for all the money your are putting out.
That is odd. I would stay away. I uave turned down about 9 insurance agent jobs in the past month. All though I have years of sales experience, most insurance companies dont want you, they want your book of business. So they will hire anyone and not want to put any money out for it.
