Lead Teacher at Luminous Early Childhood Learning Center

Good evening Mary Jane. To be qualified for a teacher job you would need to apply to colleges/universities that offer education programs and select the specific area that is complimentary to your prerequisites or qualifications. For me, when I migrated to the USA I was already a qualified teacher having my teaching Diploma and bachelor's degree in Guidance and counseling. Therefore, all I had to do was to apply to a college that offered a master's degree in education. Which landed me at Lehman College. Hope this information was beneficial to you.

Co Teacher at The Chapel School

You are going to need to get at least a Bachelors degree from a 4yr accredited college within the University of your choice. You can either get a degree in Education or a field of your intrest. Your license will be assigned based on your degree. You will be able to attain a provisional teaching certificate. If your degree is not an Edu. degree during your provisional period you will need to take teacher readiness courses to qualify for your professional certification. You will also be required to take state exams for the state you wish to teach in. The test will consist of English, Math, Reading, Essay,Pedagogy, and Subject area. Taking these exams can get very expensive especially if you have to take them more than once. I hope this information helps.

Substitute Teaching Guest Teacher at Manteca Unified School District

Schools need teachers. In my district, through the County Office of Education, you can earn your credential while teaching. BUT you must have a Bachelor's Degree. If you have a BA, you would want to contact the COE, and they can guide you on what you need to do.
