Depending on the establishment you may need a liquor license. Other than that it's pretty much on the job training and a personality that will allow you to work with all types of different people and attitudes.I hope this helps. And good luck! 😘

That depends. I worked at Younkers prior to the store closing. The transactions mostly involved store credit cards; pretty straightforward.

Worked as a cashier from Burger King to Shell gas station thru out my life. From 15 years old till 47 years old.

You need to know how to count money. Speak clearly and be polite to all customers. Convenient Stores can include inventory and stocking shelves plus the cooler. Make sure you know all your job duties. Smile!

When I was a cashier the place where I worked trained me For about a week and that’s really all it takes it’s not hard

You need to be a kind and compassionate person

Wherever you choose to be a cashier will train you. You don't have to get training yourself

Pay attention, use your mind and your brain, ask questions if you don't understand something, and if you don't ask questions, you won't know how to do the job that you got hired for.

If they sale alcohol a servers license, which u can also use 2 serve at weddings, company banquets, and conventions 4 a side hustle. If hot food iz sold ull also need food handlers certificate. Most jobs will pay 4 classes or reimburse you, classes are no longer then 4 hourz and it's common sense answers very easy. Great attitude personality and being social are a huge must. If some 1 comez in 2 my work place and they ain't smiling or they aura ain't shining it/they will be by tha time they leave. I love the interaction with different type of people everyday and also learning who your regulars are and building a report with them because believe me you will be more than just a cashier especially if you're working at a corner convenience store like speedway or circle k. Make sure to learn and recognize your regulars that come in daily and what they purchase on a regular basis. And also make sure to make all customers feel like they are regulars and that you know them on a certain personal level that's how you get repeat clientele and also good words put into your management team from customers. My motto is upsale everybody and make sure everybody leaves with a smile! Hood lucc!
I was a casino Cashier and they send you to training. Casino cashier is way different then just a cashier from a store. You have to constantly clear your hands and you handle thousands of dollars at times. But its fun.
