I need a job.

I have applied everywhere with no luck, i have 30 years of waitress experience with 10 of them in fine dining, I am a little older, but much wiser, any suggestions?

Mary. Unfortunately you need to look a little younger. Im sorry. My sister is 55 and just got a waitress job in a classey place down the shore, living in a camper at campground to work. She hold a masters degree in graphic arts and was s teacher as well. This is just not about you personally....i am 51....i have a masters and i am old. At 41 i faced aged discrimination. I would try to look a little younger mesning maybe put your hair up in a pony tail. Wear some lip gloss not lipstick. Wear clothes you see a younger croud does. Your voice, and tslk words like the younger ones. Cool. Oh wow. That stuff.....its not fair. Life is not. But you need to eat. If i told you what im doing now you would freak. But money is money. Also check out the place first go see it. Yave a drink and check it out. Maybe its jeans and a top. You do what you need to do...look into the country clubs they want classy women, the finer restaurants. Try to look younger and that you look fit. Always smile and get to know the restaurants foods so st an interview you can make some great comments even if it was horrible. Also look into the cratering. Pays well. Split tips. Take home very good foods free or they are trsshed. Keep me informed.

Hi Mary! What are you interested in doing? I would spend lots of time thinking about what you love to do! Your years as a waitress are not lost either! You have what are called transferable skills! Check out [this post] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/a5073517-c2cd-5d9e-913b-5dae6e88f188) on how to best use them!
