If an interviewer reschedules at the last minute?

I was supposed to have a job interview today at 4. At 3: 30, the interviewer sent me a TEXT MESSAGE, of all things, saying she needed to reschedule. That felt really unprofessional. Would you give it another chance, because it took me quite awhile to prepare. I don't like it. #interview #losangeles

I don't think at this day and age that sending a text message is a bad thing.

Well, sometimes things come up and the interviewer just can't always meet with you at the time that is scheduled. I would just go with the flow and meet with the interviewer at a different time and date, if possible.

As a recruiter, stuff happens, however, most of us give the benefit of the doubt to the interviewee these days. That being said, if the position is a solid, career move, and you initiated the interview, flexibility is important. I would have texted back when you are available to reschedule showing your empathy for the recruiter and your ability to be flexible with alternatives. As a management position, that's thinking on your feet.

Ask yourself if they would give you a chance if you were the one calling/asking for a reschedule. I don't think so. You don't want to work for these people.

True - except for those of us who still treat phones like phones, and don't text IMPORTANT messages.

I would try to get a reason. Sounds fishy.

I had a zoom interview on a Saturday and no one showed up. The company texted the next day to reschedule, but it was a hard pass for me.

Yes, a reschedule happens, but it can be a sign of the chaos of the place and the opinion management has of their staff . Definitely a call would've been more professional and considerate of your time. Especially since they knew you had to prepare.
