Resume questions

I have 25 years of work experience. I was told in one class I took of writing resumes to list approximately the last 10-15 years. And add more available on request. Anyone have any other recommendations???

Hi Missy Carrington - you've come to the right place! I would agree with whoever told you to only include the last 10-15 years. The big thing is you generally don't want to go over one page, as a hiring manager spends an average of 7 seconds on a resume before deciding on it.

Check out this conversation on resumes! Additionally, Patrick Coppedge 's conversation on trimming your resume is definitely going to be a good resource for you!

I hope this helps, Missy. Let us know if you have any questions or updates on your job search.

My job history (traditionally chronicled) stops at 10 yrs. I have an "additional experience" section that lists "Position, Company" for the ones before that. I have a "skills and experience" section that highlights what I learned along the 25+ years at this thing called a career :) Hope that helps!
