Sales Associate Unloader Stocker at Walmart

My #Walmart advice

I recommend working at Walmart because it has its own great little community within the store. A lot of people are embarrassed to work at stores such as Walmart, don't be. The experience was great. Coming from Walmart's first minor to be an unloader. Heck it was the most difficult first job I've had but I had great managers and supervisors to guide me throughout. Workers are very friendly and it's just simply an amazing feeling clocking out knowing you helped a lot of people that day!

It's nice to hear someone say something positive about Walmart for a change! :-) I started out as a cashier and often had customers whisper to me, "Eeew - how can you work for Walmart? I hear they're awful to their employees!" I got tired of defending my store to people who had never worked at Walmart. Yes, there are some pretty scary stories about some of the stores, but that's why Walmart has so many rules and store policies. You can't be a giant corporation and not have some lawsuits happen. Every time a lawsuit did happen, Walmart would make changes to protect both the store AND the employees. I was paid well for the different positions I had and I still think of some of their awesome policies like their "Sundown" rule, which was that all complaints had to be dealt with by sundown of the day of complaint. I feel it's all about the store manager and the assistant managers. My store had a great team of folks working there and I learned a lot. I left with a good feeling about my experience there and while I currently have no desire to work in retail, I will defend Walmart to those that try to put it down!
