Project and Program Expert, Needing the PMP Certificate!
Hello. I am joining this group to share what I know, providing any expertise and insights I have. I have recently taken a PMP Prep course, however, taught with the pre-March 2018 materials. I am anxious to discover the key differences or gaps that may appear on the new test? Thank you- please feel free to ask any questions and check out my LinkedIn Profile (www.linkedin.com/in/scottfaulkner1). I recently relocated to the Greater Denver Colorado area in case anyone wants to meet up in person-definitely good with that.

Hello Scott. Welcome to Jobcase! I joined the group sometime ago as well. I too am anxious to learn what the new test would entail. As I am still preparing to take the Exam sometime in 2019, Looks like a lot of job requirements list the Certification as a MUST HAVE. I went ahead and enrolled in a Master's of Science in Project Management at Walden University in order to have an advanced degree under my belt, but it should prove useful I think, in demonstrating knowledge in the field outside of the Certification.
I'm understanding and told that the Certificate is the must have but apparently, but there are professional project management hours one must have in order to sit for the exam . I'm a couple of hundred hours short as well in the area of volunteer experience required. Will certainly connect with you on LinkedIn and look forward to connecting with you in order to share experiences. With your past experience I believe you should be fine. All the best.

Scott Faulkner Welcome to Jobcase and I'm glad you could join the PMP study group. I'm going to connect you with Robin Lampert to this conversation. She has a vast experience in project management and can give you a idea about the new test. Here's come information regarding some of the exam changes PMI have made this year. https://www.pmi.org/certifications/exam-changes

Adding to my own post. Just read your post Robin, Thank You!
Thanks Scott Faulkner - I often wonder about the incremental value added by obtaining certifications. I've had the PMP before and another friend is pursuing the CCNA for networking. Great Post!
