Make sure to ask before leaving your interview, "When should I expect to hear from you?" It tells them that you are interested in the position. And if you don't hear from them, give them a call the next day...? Don't be demanding, just "calling to inquire about the status of the open position you'd interviewed with [hiring persons name] on [interview date]. Smile even when inquiring over the phone, it is heard in your tone.
