Thinking Out Loud!

Are you dealing with stress when looking for a job? As we continue to deal with the pandemic, finding a job can add more stress to your life. Many companies are looking for workers who are searching for a job. Some of the feed back I hear while attending my Leadership Group is about prospects showing signs of stress. Some of the things you can do to make a good impression on the employer is to better be prepared. Start by preparing your self from the start. It starts with applying for the job. When you choose to apply for the job, make sure you set time aside to know about the company. Research it by clicking on their website. Read about the company. Go to their LinkedIn page. This tells you more about the company and it’s employees. Next make changes to your resume. Use some of the information to fit the resume for that position. More importantly it gives you insight to use during the interview process. Now set aside time to fill the application correctly. Submit your application with resume. Assuming you get the interview this could be the deal breaker if you are not prepared. Each week I hear the same things from employers regarding the applicants not being prepared. Now it’s time for the interview. Listen to the questions the employer are asking and answer with short direct answers. Sometimes you can use an example related to your experience can help answer the questions. In closing when the employer ask if you have any questions? This is your time to shine. Let them know you researched the company and mention the highlights you read. End by telling them why you would be the right person for the position. As I mentioned before people who are searching for a job has the advantage due to the many possibilities available during the pandemic. Why not take advantage by better preparing yourself? #prepare #resume
