What was the most stressful emergency you experienced as a #MedicalAssistant?
How did it go?

i worked in occupational medicine Workman comp issues not stressful just very busy

Im a cna I commented on a lot of Home hospice and dementia work I can't say that I've ever had a stressful experience or a bad experience but a patient's mother did let us experience her mother's passing away and although it was very very sad it was almost beautiful and a sense you would had to been there to understand the bond the closeness I love that everyone shared for the patient thank you

I am a CNA not a medical Ass. so I dont know

A stabbing, an anaphylaxis allergic reaction, a guy with busted ribs who ended up having a punctured lung.

The patient, came into the doctor office for a office visit & passed out at the elevator performed CPR pt came around called medic pt was taking to local hospital then he later expired.

I worked at an OBGYN office. A patient came in to our office in Emergency Labor. With blood everywhere from our front office to our back exam rooms. Staying calm we brought het back , stabilized her and the unborn baby and quickly transported them to hospital. Thank god it was only 2 miles away.

I was training someone learning how to perform venipuncture. The trainee had realized they were too close an artery. So, once the retracted the needle blood shot out. I acted quickly grabbing as many 2x2's as possible, applied pressure and had the patient hold their arm above their head. The bleeding stopped and there was no bruising or hematoma.

wasn't a medical assistant but a medical coder/biller for a group of Internists. So I can't answer your question in that compacity. One thing I have examined is people. Their attitudes, their misplaced devotion, and in the ones under 50 their feel for the easy route, especially when it concerns pain. .

The dr. was performing an operation and hit a vein. I did not have enough experience so he instructed me to get another assistant who had surgical training. It was very exciting to see blood spraying all over the room. The situation got resolved and the pt. did well after the procedure.
We had 5 women in labor, 2 L&D rooms, and only 4 bassinets. In the middle of everything we had a baby needing to be life flighted out. Trying to keep family members calm and out of the hallways, make sure our nurses and doctors had everything they needed, and care for the other patients on the floor while trying to get more staff in to help with the load. It was a crazy and very emotion night for everyone!
