Attention! Attention! Read all about it
Through experience at job fairs, networking events, and sales internships, I have found one of the most difficult (and important) aspects of the job search is finding a way to keep someone's attention.
Whether it's offering short anecdotes, intelligent questions, or the occasional (re: frequent) corny joke, I find there a lot of ways to win someone's attention in a cocktail party scenario. Some of the best advice I received: Go out and K.I.S.S. -- keep it short & simple
A great tool for me has been an effective elevator pitch full of fun/unique facts -here is a great place to start with yours: http://www.forbes.com/sites/nextavenue/2013/02/04/the-perfect-elevator-pitch-to-land-a-job/
I would love to hear more about how other people go about trying to stand out and keep someone's ear!
Great advice, dillon!
