I started with this organization in 2007. The first five years I was harassed by the assistant director, which led to me being out on disability for five months. Finally when I returned to work, her position was eliminated. I transferred to another division in the hospital, after two weeks of working in the new department I was told that all of my time with the company was null and void and I had to start from scratch. This is a union hospital I was told that there was a different union contract between the location I came from and the new location, I was never tols this during the interview or the transitional period. I was left feeling like I am part of a very dishonest organization.

Wendy, there is a lot of good advice here. It is very tragic what happened to you. I think you would have success with Mike's suggestion. It may be worth your time and best for your mental health to get some closure. The attorney general in your state may be very interested in what activities are prompting such behavior. As far as another job no worries if your good your needed!

did u speak with ur rep, I can tell u, if u have a legitimate pro employee union, short of running the halls of corp. completely naked, with screw u signs, it pretty difficult 2 lose ur job, no matter how bad of an employees u r, or how much union reps dislike u, they know their stronger in #s, and will fight 2 keep ur job, u may need 2 look into the integrity of ur union, or used 2 be union. Good wishes, keep ur head up and accept the fact that u need 2 decide between the lesser of 2 evils, union jobs, or at will jobs, classic damn-if-u-do-damn-if-u-don't.

1st..contact your union rep. That's why you pay those dues every week. It may be that you are under a different contract. Your rep should be able to answer that question. Also, ask your rep for a copy of the contract between co. and union. If you are denied any of your requests, I not sure but contacting an attorny who specializes in this might be your next step.. Sincerely--good luck.

Talk to a Union Representative asap!

That's terrible they did that to you. I'm sorry you had to go through that and I hope things get better for you.

Try to get or call the employers that helping the employees who have labor problems and pay for jobs. Call them and tell the situation. Also tell your boss overall about something you encounter and give an description the same way.

Why was the Assistant Director let go ?. Sorry you had to go through all that. Doesn't sound right to me, I would try to find out what is really going on. I would consider trying to look for another job, doesn't sound like it's stable there. I think you will be happier somewhere else. Good Luck :)

In all honesty, the company is not required to advise you that the Union will be different, however the Union rep should have advised you IF they knew you were seeking a different position within the company. Did you ask your union rep or the company during your interview?

I also wanrted to say from now on if your being harassed and mistreated take notes date time event what they said. Then you have proof. I will never work again in an environment that treats people that way.
You know this brings up the question of dismissal at will. This means that any ole reason is good enough for dismissal. I think we hard working employees demand this on every ballot State that has this policy! I think I am going to write it in on next election cycle and see where the chips fall! If I can I am going to do it.
