A time I was disappointed at #BB&TBank
I wasn't disappointed at BB&T, I quite enjoyed my job as part-time, peak-time teller, usually working the window. The Island, and Beaufort County as a whole, was enjoying a building boom. What happened was, I became afraid for my personal safety. Workmen would come in on Friday evenings to cash their checks, offering foreign ID, none of them having an account with the bank. We cashed the checks based on the payer's account, knowing the majority of the money would be wired back to Mexico. Then as Christmas approached, and I heard of bank robberies elsewhere, I really got concerned. I decided that discretion was the better part of valor, so resigned my post. Now banks usually have a sign up, no concealed weapons allowed. Well, that's just dandy; only the thug will be armed. I don't plan to work in a bank again.
