Unfortunately, every interview conducted on Google Hangouts is a scam, almost without fail. No reputable company conducts an interview that way. If you gave the interviewer any personal information at all, please contact the authorities to see what you need to do to protect yourself from identity theft. Also - Google Hangouts is one of many clues the job is a scam. Always check the e-mail address and if it isn't coming directly from the company, disregard the e-mail. If they want you to use Hangouts, disregard the e-mail. Use White Pages or another service to check the phone number - most of them are scams as well if you look close enough. Anything that offers huge paychecks for little work, offers to send you a check up front, or asks you to re-ship packages, etc. is a scam. Also - any job that asks you to pay anything up front for training, etc. is probably a scam as well.
