Tried raising money to start a local small business. No luck. If you start a business where I live you are seen as having a mental health problem or seen as a nut job. Aka no support. It is a common view here that you should be working for someone else even if that someone else won't hire you at all. Thanks to all the work being chain retail and base their hiring on if you have good credit or the so called right personality type via personalty tests.
Leaving me very few employment options. Mainly work no one else will do that is a dead end job that pays minimum wage with heavy labor. At my age I can no longer do that kind of work.
On top of being over educated for the local job market.
So I am back at square one. Very frustrated. Have no idea what to do anymore.
can you do Uber to help establish funds for startup?? you can sell products on ebay to get you going. look into work at home scenarios
I see you are an industrial designer. This may seem a bit different however consider the utility space. Surprisingly a lot going on with forward thinking innovation. I am contracting at a utility company and there are 2 industrial designers there working on some pretty interesting projects. Just a thought...
