@brenett johnson hi I'm also in Virginia. And utilizing unemployment. Unfortunately, I have had two file for unemployment twice. First time employer said I was not eligible and fought me at every hand even after multiple appeals I never qualified for unemployment. It sounds like to me your previous employer stopped providing the benefit. Or the terms in which you may have used when you applied for unemployment. Where you laid off or terminated? I would reach out to the unemployment office or go down to the office if your in Richmond. Circle back also to your previous employer because we pay to receive these benefits and for someone reason your employer has halted something that's why your not receiving benefit payments. Continue to file your claims until you get clarification. I hope this helps your prayers for you!

I can not even imagine how you are maintaining. I will lift you up in prayer. Contact your Department of Human Resources and see if there is anything that you can receive. Many states have temporary and emergency resources. Similarly, check the Food Banks and churches in your area.

If you have a mortgage several lenders have extended a 90 day exception. You must contact them. Talk with everyone that you do business with: electric and water companies, cell phone or landline provider, car insurance, etc. You can’t pay when you don’t have. Many may offer forgives or reductions.

Sometimes , when so much is happening, making contact with companies may be the last thought. I have found them to be helpful. Don’t forget to contact creditors. Let them know your credit is important and what going on.

And, too, contact the temporary agencies. Manpower and many staffing agencies can offer short term assignments. And, of course, let neighbors and family members help where they can.

Your previous employer must have blocked you, if your ex employer says your not eligible then unemployment won’t pay you they have 30 days to contest your unemployment. You do realize that the employer pays unemployment insurance not the workers so when a person files unemployment the unemployment office contacts your last job to see if they are ok with you getting unemployment. Many ppl think it’s up to the state unemployment to decide and they don’t. The state may approve you then your last job may say no they don’t want you to use the unemployment insurance they paid for. That dose t cone out your paycheck. Employer get unemployment insurance in case they have to lay off ect. Not if you quit are getting fired unless you get fired due to no fault of your own exp. family sick .
