Tell us about your previous work experience? You will want to talk about how your previous work experience matches the experience they are looking for in regards to the store manager position.

In the job description, I am looking at it states: Progressively responsible retail experience (3 years), supervision (1 year) and experience analyzing financial reports

So be sure to talk about any retail, supervision, and financial experience you have first.

Why do you want to be a store manager? I feel I can learn and grow my career by working at a Fortune 500 company. I enjoy leading coaching and mentoring. Why should I hire you? For this question, you need to read the store manager job description again and look for key skills they are looking for and restate those skills. After rereading the job description here is what I found.

Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the store team to implement them to meet operational and organizational objectives. (Skill ability to motivate others) Ability to manage store operations independently (skill work independently) Can manage effectively in a fast-paced environment (skill work under pressure) Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously. (skill multitasking) Team building skills (skill teamwork) So when asked why should I hire you:

Say you have great motivational skills and understand the importance of motivating others to meet operational and organizational objectives. State you work well in a team or independently. Mention you work well under pressure. Finally, say you have great multitasking skills. Tip!!! Be sure to think of actual real-life examples when stating these skills. Starbucks is known for its situational interview questions.

Where do you see yourself in five years? This question is designed to see if you have goals but, more importantly, to see if you are a good fit for Starbucks Store Manager. Make sure your goal aligns with the Starbucks business objectives. Why not take a look at the Starbucks Career website and find a job you can see yourself doing in five years. After store manager, you can move up to the district manager and regional manager. This will make you sound committed to the organization. Do you have any questions for us? What are the top attributes of a store manager at Starbucks?

Hi @reese bustanoby I'm in the same situation as you, I've been a barista for 3 years an want to get into mgmt. I bet they'll ask how to deal with conflict between partners, and between partner and guest. Also be prepared to talk about how you ensure a clean environment, and how you'd ensure your location stays safe. good luck
