I worked for the United states postal service from Jan.9,1995 till Dec.4,2008. I had worked there 12 years 2 months and 6 days and never had one report put in my personnel file. on Mar. 16,2007 I was scheduled for surgery for cancer. on Mar. 15,2007 was my first write up. my PM said I falsified my time. I didn't but you write your own time down on a 4240 form. one day before cancer surgery and never been wrote up before. anyway I returned to work the first part of July 2007.to be fired over what the PM said I done in March. I filed a grievance and got called back to work. but the Pm harassed me till I had a heart attack. when I was off work due to my heart he the Pm wouldn't take a doctor's excuse. I couldn't file for family medical leave because I had been of work previously due to the cancer. so while I was off work sick. the Pm put another accusation of falsifying against me. so I was fired from a job that I was promised was a lifetime job as long as I did my work and did nothing illegal. the REASON I PUT THIS ON HERE is to let other postal workers to take notes. keep records and ask to see your personnel file. if not you could be done like me. write everything down and take pictures if you have to. or record. the post office says you are not suppose to. but they don't keep their word. so protect yourself by records. United states postal service is a rip off. I can't even draw my retirement.
