Too many Scams!

Seems like every position I have been applying for have been scams. Every position I have applied for the responses I have gotten by email and sure want to hire me but the company or person do not operate out of the state I am in. They want to pay by a check or direct deposit which then want to know your account info. Are there any legit jobs anymore? This more of a rhetorical question or statement to vent. It's ridiculous of putting any effort into applying places and they turn out to be scam artists. It is so frustrating and I wonder if anyone else has seen this?

Hi Colleen, you're definitely not alone on this. Scammers are getting increasingly sneakier with how to get by job board moderation. They're extremely common in work-from-home jobs specifically. Part of my job is to help keep you safe from them, so if you receive anything suspicious feel free to forward it to me at askemily@jobcase.com and I'll try to help you figure out if it's legit or not!

You can also read about scams other people have sniffed out, and other scam-related clues here: https://www.jobcase.com/community/topics/scams
